Let’s explore what a charismatic journey you will experience while having an ultimate skincare protocol called Chemical peel. We are glad to tell you everything about chemical peel and the benefits you will get.
WHAT IS CHEMICAL PEEL, WHAT ARE ITS BENEFITS, AND WHAT DOES IT CONTAINS?
A chemical peel is an aesthetic skin resurfacing procedure where a chemical solution of glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, and phenol is applied to various skin depths to improve the skin imperfections such as acne, acne scars, discoloration, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and fine lines. Applying a chemical solution causes the skin to blister, causing a new, improved, rejuvenated, and younger-looking skin to appear.
Beyond Med Spa and wellness center provides three different peels that work on various skin depths. When applied in a series of consistent sessions, the lighter lunchtime chemical peels work only to the top layer of the skin and provide benefits for superficial skin concerns. The medium depth peels remove an outmost layer and top part of the middle layers of skin.
Medium depth chemical peels treat delicate to moderate wrinkles, skin discoloring, age spots, and acne scarring. For the most dramatic results, deep chemical peels are applied that penetrate the lower middle layers of the skin. The deep chemical peel is ideal for extensive sun damage, moderate to severe lines, wrinkles, deep acne scars, and imperfections.
Dr. Berkey provides her patients the sufficient information about the pretreatment protocol, duration of treatment, and downtime because the deep chemical peel is only a one-time treatment. The overall benefits that chemical peel of various depths offers are listed as under;
- diminishes undereye lines and wrinkles, and lines around the mouth
- Improves the appearance of sun-damaged skin
- Reduces wrinkles that appear with aging or excessive use of expressions
- Improves mild scarring
- Reduces acne formation
- Reduces dark spots, melasma, and freckles caused by pregnancy and taking birth control pills.
WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE, AND WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE OF CHEMICAL PEEL APPLICATION?
A chemical peel is ideal for someone in good physical health and who doesn’t possess severe skin concerns such as diabetic skin issues, eczema, and autoimmune skin conditions. The procedure is also not ideal for pregnant and nursing mothers. The process is simple and doesn’t require any preparations.
Your aesthetic practitioner will apply the chemical peel in two to three layers, and it will not take more than thirty minutes from start to finish. You might feel a mild tingling sensation when the peel is applied. You may also observe redness followed by scaling, which will settle down within three to seven days. Mild peels need to be repeated at intervals of one to four weeks. Medium depth and deep peels result in swelling, blistering, and the formation of crust that will turn brown and peel off within seven to fourteen days.
You may need to repeat medium peeling after six months to a year to get the desired skin that you are looking for. Protected sun exposure is mandatory after a chemical peel since your new skin is fragile and is more prone to damage due to unprotected exposure to UV rays.
Results
Chemical peel results in improvement of the skin’s tone and texture. Moderate depth peels make your skin smoother; you will see a dramatic improvement in the look and feel of your skin after deep peel application. Results are not permanent. Aging and new sun damage may lead to the pigmentation or formation of new lines and wrinkles.
